Is There a Halal Hotel in Halong Bay? The Honest Answer (October 2026)
No. The hotels in Ha Long and Bai Chay do not have halal-certified kitchens, and almost every hotel sells alcohol in its bar, restaurant or minibar. Some booking sites tag Ha Long hotels as “halal-friendly”; that usually means a prayer mat on request or a breakfast without pork, not certified food. The practical choice is an ordinary good hotel within a short walk or taxi ride of a halal restaurant.
In October 2026 we could verify only two halal restaurants in Ha Long, both in Bai Chay and about 3.4 km apart: RedCoral on Phan Chu Trinh Street (west Bai Chay) and Sri Rembau on Cai Lan Street near Sun World (east Bai Chay). So choose your hotel by the restaurant you prefer: Dragon Legend and D’Lecia are a few minutes’ walk from RedCoral; Muong Thanh Grand Bai Chay is about 1 km from Sri Rembau and close to the cruise port.
Many Halong Bay cruises have their own halal menus: see our Halong Bay halal cruises.
