- Mosque and prayer: Al-Noor Mosque on Hang Luoc Street in Hanoi is the only mosque in northern Vietnam, so there is no mosque in Halong Bay or Lan Ha Bay; many guests visit Al-Noor Mosque before or after the cruise. Prayer times are not fixed in the cruise programme, and you can pray in your cabin.
- Before and after: eat in Hanoi with our list of halal restaurants in Hanoi.

Who This Cruise Suits – and Who Should Choose Another
Choose Lyra Grandeur Cruise if you want the newest halal-certified ship in our list, large bathtub suites and plenty to do on board – ideal for honeymoons, anniversaries and families with teenagers.
Choose another cruise if your budget is tighter (Mon Cheri Cruise or Diana Cruise), you want a prayer room on board (Catherine Cruise) or you have your heart set on Sung Sot Cave, which Lyra does not visit.
Is 2 Days 1 Night on Lyra Grandeur Enough?
For most travellers, yes: you get an afternoon at Frog Lagoon and an early visit to Dark and Bright Cave. With so many facilities on board, the 3 days 2 nights programme is worth it if you want time to use the pool and spa and see Viet Hai Village and Ba Trai Dao beach.

- Celebrations: book the private dining room for an anniversary dinner with halal food.

Local Expert Notes
- Dark and Bright Cave at 6:45 is quiet and cool, so it is worth getting up for.
- Holiday surcharges apply on 24, 25 and 31 December and on New Year’s Day.
- Lyra Grandeur is a different ship from its 2020 sister Capella Cruise, which does not hold a halal certificate.
