Who This 5-Day Hanoi Itinerary Suits – and Who Should Choose Another Tour
- Good for: a first visit to northern Vietnam, families with children, couples and older travelers who want the main sights of Hanoi, Ninh Binh and Halong Bay at an easy pace.
- Choose another tour if you want Sapa and the rice terraces – take the Hanoi Muslim Tour 7 Days – or if every meal must be halal on the cruise, in which case add the Mon Chéri cruise.
- Not included: Mua Cave (nearly 500 steps) and Trang An; both can be added to day 2 on request.
Is 5 Days in Hanoi Enough?
Yes. Five days is enough to see Hanoi’s main sights, spend a full day in Ninh Binh and a night in Halong Bay without rushing. With two more days you can add Sapa; with one more day you can add Mua Cave and Trang An, or a second night on the bay.
Customize Your Hanoi Muslim Tour 5 Days
- Swap Tam Coc for Trang An or add Mua Cave on day 2.
- Upgrade to a 4-star or 5-star hotel in Hanoi.
- Upgrade the cruise to Mon Chéri for halal meals on board, or stay 2 nights in Lan Ha Bay.
- Change the order of days to fit your flights.

Local Expert Notes
By Jimmy, Hanoi Muslim Tours
- Book a morning arrival flight if you can, so day 1 covers the full city tour.
- The Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum opens in the morning only and is closed on Mondays and Fridays. It also closes every year for restoration – in 2026 from 4 September to 2 November. When it is closed, we visit Ba Dinh Square and the One Pillar Pagoda instead.
- Tam Coc’s rice fields turn golden in late May and early June, just before the harvest.
- From June to September, storms can close Halong Bay to cruises at short notice. If that happens, we suggest another day or an alternative such as Trang An.
