Tips for Muslim Travellers
- The temples have altars and incense; you can enjoy the architecture and history without taking part in rituals.
- Halal options are few: Aroma Indian Restaurant in Tam Coc is Muslim-owned and serves halal meat (alcohol is also served), and a family-run halal restaurant operates near Ninh Binh Railway Station. Details are in our guide to halal restaurants in Ninh Binh.
- There is no mosque in Ninh Binh; the nearest is Al-Noor Mosque in Hanoi, about two hours away. Pray at your restaurant, hotel or a quiet place your guide arranges, and bring a light prayer mat.
